BARN ROCK

Felt the urge to wail so I took my guitar

To a place down in Texas we call the Old Red Barn

Ran into Hot Lick Lucas with his guitar on his back

Hanging from his shoulder on a rattlesnake strap

Barn began to rattle, dingle and a’dattle and move

There ain’t nothin’ like the Barn Rock

When you’re ready to get down and groove

After Lou the drummer showed up at the place

Wasn’t long ‘til Larry joined in with his bass

Fingers started struttin’ to the beat of the sound

Steel guitar nearly brought the rafters down

Barn began to rattle, dingle and a’dattle and move

There ain’t nothin’ like the Barn Rock

When you’re ready to get down and groove

Rockin’ and a’ Rollin’, sockin’ and a’ soulin’ the sound

Breakin’ and a’ Shakin’ everybody’s eardrum in town

Just movin’ on down

We chased away the sun, brought the moonshine up

So did Old Man Harry with his little brown jug

Made everybody happy with his magical juice

Made everybody snappy and looser than loose

Barn began to rattle, dingle and a’dattle and move

There ain’t nothin’ like the Barn Rock

When you’re ready to get down and groove

There ain’t nothin’ like the Barn Rock

When you’re ready to get down

Getting’ down and a’ movin’

Concho To The Colorado

Maybe I’m expecting way too much

You’ve only just left but I still need your touch

I know; I know a cowboy is hard to hold

But I love you enough to let you go

Night is falling but the stars are shining bright

Look to the west if you want me in your sight

I’m here; I’m here as constant as the river winds

But believe me I’ll never be the first to say good-bye

From the Concho to the Colorado

Our love will always flow

From the badlands of West Texas

Deep in the heart of San Angelo

Special delivery straight from my heart and soul

By way of the Concho to the Colorado

There’s no telegram I want to send

Not to good with a paper and a pen

Look up; look up ‘cross that West Texas sky

No truer love will you ever find

From the Concho to the Colorado

Our love will always flow

From the badlands of West Texas

Deep in the heart of San Angelo

Special delivery straight from my heart and soul

By way of the Concho to the Colorado

It’s A Girls Night Out

There are fair weather friends and then there are those

Who are worth much more than silver or gold

You may see them for many a year

But like a blast from the past they just appear

You know it’s party time, a girl kinda thing

We leave our husbands back home but we still wear our rings

Debbie’s on the dance floor looking hot in tight britches

Linda’s on the bar stool keeping everyone in stitches

Kathy’s smile lights up the whole room

Pam and Cindy are howling at the moon

The best of the best can’t keep up

When it’s a girls night out there’s no stopping us

It’s A Girls Night Out that’s what I’m talking about

Kickin’ up our heels having a shout

We can still keep up with girls half our age

When it comes to having fun there ain’t no expiration date

It’s A Girls Night Out

We were teethed on Elvis when we were babes

Little country girls and we could raise some cain

We were the talk of the town as we blazed our trial

And we have secrets that we will never tell

Get out of our way we’re six chicks from Texas

If you can’t stand the heat then get out of our kitchen

Texas tornadoes eat our dust

We’re rowdy but sweet and just a little bit tough

All little kitties got to play

When It’s A Girls Night Out nothin’ stands in our way

It’s A Girls Night Out that’s what I’m talking about

Kickin’ up our heels having a shout

We can still keep up with girls half our age

When it comes to having fun there ain’t no expiration date

It’s A Girls Night Out

KEEPER OF THE FLAME

Last night with my eyes closed I lay awake

Fixed upon the vision of your face

Rummaging through memories of you and me

Stoking every ember that remains

More miles stretch between us every day

When absence dims a love two hearts must pay

Once we vowed to never let our flame die out

So tonight I’ll be the Keeper of Our Flame

Oh tonight I will be the Keeper of Our Flame

Just like for me you’ve always done the same

So send your sweet love to your blue Texas girl

And tonight I’ll be the Keeper of Our Flame

Responsibility takes you away

When duty calls love takes second place

But nothing in this world can make our flame die out

As long as I’m the Keeper of Our Flame

So tonight I will be the Keeper of Our Flame

Just like for me you’ve always done the same

So send your sweet love to your blue Texas girl

And tonight I’ll be the Keeper of Our Flame

Oh, tonight I’ll be the Keeper of Our Flame

You Left Your Memories

I thought it wouldn’t matter; I thought I wouldn’t care

I told myself a heartache was something I could bare

At first I hardly noticed ‘til the echoes of my mind

Brought to my attention some things you left behind

I was going through my closet when I came across your shirt

Well the picture that shot across my mind sure stirred up a lot of hurt

Your vision kept on haunting me and man you sure looked fine

Once again it occurred to me you left a few little things behind

You Left Your Memories laying’ ‘round and they’re messing up my place

And every time that I turn around I meet one face to face

I must admit I’m wearing down and I can’t take much more

You Left Your Memories laying’ ‘round; they got me walking the floor

Friends tell me that your leaving was a blessing in disguise

But when I come across your memory another part of me dies

You left my life cluttered with reminders of the past

Wish I could pick up the bits

And pieces and throw them out with the trash

You Left Your Memories laying’ ‘round and they’re messing up my place

And every time that I turn around I meet one face to face

I must admit I’m wearing down and I can’t take much more

You Left Your Memories laying’ ‘round; they got me walking the floor

Passing Thought

What’s left of a word after it’s been said

What’s left of a story when you’ve reached the end

I’ve been feeling with my heart not thinking with my head

And now that we’re apart there’s a question I’ve got to ask

Is anything that we had worth a Passing Thought

Is anything that we had worth one little Passing Thought

I feel like some lost soul trapped in a William’s play

With my back against the wall and nothing more to say  (anyway)

Is the promise that you made just one less to keep

Why are you so afraid it’s my love your might need

Is anything that we had worth a Passing Thought

Is anything that we had worth one little Passing Thought

So look me in the eyes and tell me you don’t need me like I need you

And on that moonlit summer’s night

You didn’t feel the earth move

The touch of your hand brings me to my knees

The sound of your voice sets my soul at ease

So while you’re making up your mind

I’ll see you in my dreams

Please don’t take too much time it may be later than it seems

Is anything that we had worth a Passing Thought

Is anything that we had worth one little Passing Thought

Poor Girl

Her mama told her when she was a wee one

Stay away from the House of The Risin’ Sun

No good ever come from a place like that

End up in the gutter with some alley cat

But her Daddy died, then her Mama did too

Tell me what a Poor Girl suppose to do

She tried to live the way her Mama taught her to

Went to church every Sunday like the good girls do

She met what she thought was a real good man

Wasn’t long ‘til he asked her for her hand

She really didn’t love him but she said “I do”

Tell me what a Poor Girl suppose to do

At first they had a pretty good life

But time has a way of bringing truth to light

He started coming home late in a drunken rage

They never had two cents after he got paid

I guess he had his own little secrets too

Tell me what a Poor Girl suppose to do

Early one morning ‘bout a quarter til four

Two State Troopers pounding down her door

Had what looked to be her man’s gun

Said they found it at the House of The Rising Sun

He’d used it on the dealer when the marker was due

Tell me what’s a Poor Girl suppose to do

Never heard from her man since that day

I guess he’s dead, in prison or he got away

Well she don’t much think about his outcome

She got her life at the House of The Rising Sun

Sometimes we don’t get to choose

Tell me what a Poor Girl suppose to do

Repeat Offender

You’re standing there looking like you’re

The only one who really knows

You wear your freedom like a crown

You fill your wallet with numbers

From a list of broken hearts

And cover your trail so you won’t be found

Your motive is clear and simple

It’s a crime of the heart

And baby that’s no coincidence

No matter ‘bout your reputation

You always find a loophole somewhere

And manage to destroy the evidence

And you wear your disguise so well

Your kisses are so tender

Your face would never tell

You’re a Repeat Offender

You’re a Repeat Offender

For all the hearts you’ve managed to shatter

All the trust you’ve pushed aside

Baby they should throw the book at you

But somehow you manage to escape it

With a solid alibi

But someday, someday, someday baby

Yyou know the victim might be you

And you wear your disguise so well

Your kisses are so tender

Your face would never tell

You’re a Repeat Offender

You’re a Repeat Offender

Call Back My Heart Texas Moon

Call back my heart Texas Moon;   You know he doesn’t care for me

You heard him tell me he loves someone new

You watched my heart break;  You saw he was untrue

Call back my heart Texas Moon;   You’ve been my cupid till now

Let your love light shine on a new love I might find

Call back my heart TX Moon

I watched that Texas sunset through my rear view mirror

I’m headed for that Oklahoma line

With every mile I drive;  More Texas tears I cry

And now you’re back reminding me of all my pain and misery

Call back my heart Texas Moon

Pick up the pieces for me

Once more again my trust will renew

Call back my heart Texas Moon

This moonlit road serves only as a grim reminder

Of the love that tossed my heart away

With every kiss he stole;  And every lie he told

You shared our moments of delight;  You know how blue I am tonight

Call back my heart Texas Moon;  You know he doesn’t care for me

You heard him tell me he loves someone new

You watched him break my heart;  You saw he was untrue

Call back my heart Texas Moon;  You’ve been my cupid till now

Let your little ol’ love light shine; On a true love I might find

Call back my heart;  Take back my heart;  Call back my heart   TX Moon

Whoa Whoa

Whoa Whoa won’t you slow down engine

Gonna hop upon your back

Take me from the city; take me where I can relax

Wanna Go down where it’s pretty

Where loving is a matter of fact

Whoa Whoa won’t you slow down big town

I’m tired of all your brawl

I don’t feel nothing for you; just a lot of pity that’s all (just about all)

Wanna go down where it’s pretty

Where the trees are big and tall

In all the searching I have done

I ain’t never found a finer place under the sun

Then the place that I know where that Red River flows

And the people who live there

Make you feel right at home

Whoa Whoa won’t you slow down people

You’re moving much too fast

You ain’t got time for thanking

Ain’t got time for love to last

I don’t like this life you’re living

I’m moving on down the track..

Well your life ain’t for the living

I’m going where lovin’s a fact
